I want everyone to have food, clothing, shelter, health care and access to education. But I could careless if people can't go back to buying things they don't need, to impress people they don't know, with money they don't have.
Fashion, SUVs, mid-life crises Harley Davidson riders, over sized homes, extra homes, newest techno gadgets, jewelry, lattes, big plasma TVs, HDTV... and the list can go on.
Stuff doesn't make you happy, so as long as people had the things they absolutely need, who cares if we return to a society who buys pointless trinkets? I mean other then the corporations who make billions off us buying these things. Do you really care?
Measuring success with material things is a very grand, very deep problem. If that is how Americans are measuring self worth, they I really, really hope the economy collapses. Maybe then we can reevaluate success on a truly appropriate scale.
I sort of like where your going if I thought I understood what it is your really saying. But I am well educated, and I don't make those things I said I hate.
